Fundraising Partners

Challenge21 is a global climbing quest by professional climber and photographer Jake Norton to raise money and awareness for Water For People. Over three years, he will try to climb the Triple Seven Summits - or three highest peaks on each continent - to raise $2.1 million for Water For People and get 2.1 million people engaged in the water and sanitation crises worldwide.

Crowdrise.com is a website dedicated to online fundraisingevent fundraising, volunteering, and having the most fun in the world while doing it. In 2009, Edward Norton, Shauna Robertson and Robert and Jeff Wolfe created Crowdrise.com after an experiment with what turned out to be super unique and successful campaign to raise money for the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust during the New York City Marathon. They raised $1.2 million in less than 8 weeks, much of it from small donors who gave more than once, making it one of the top fundraising success stories of the marathon. Crowdrise.com takes that experiment to a whole new level: an innovative web platform where millions of individuals use the best tools and technology to raise money for over a million different charities, while competing in fun and quirky challenges with unique incentives and prizes.  Thousands of charitable organizations make Crowdrise.com their home for starting events, team fundraisers, and turning their base of grassroots supporters into a base of grassroots fundraisers.

3for5
3for5 is a nonprofit social fundraising initiative started by David and Lenee Fueling in order to generate awareness and money to combat the global water and sanitation crisis. 3for5’s goal is to unite a community of 20 million people, each donating $5 and inviting three friends, to raise awareness and money for clean drinking water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene education for people in the developing world. Water For People has been selected as one of four organizations that will receive part of the first $50,000 raised by this movement. The money raised by 3for5 will support our work in rural Malawi. For more information, visit http://www.3for5.org/

Underwriters' Laboratory
Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a global leader in drinking water quality and safety, is asking consumers to pledge to reduce their household water usage. UL introduced the 'Save Your Water' consumption calculator at www.ul.com/saveyourwater, where consumers can pledge to conserve water by making simple lifestyle changes. The interactive tool helps visitors evaluate their daily, weekly and annual household water consumption. For each of the first 15,000 pledges received, UL will donate $one dollar to Water For People.

Climb for Water

What started as a few friends fulfilling a life-long dream to climb one of the tallest mountains on earth has evolved into their desire to use the experience to help save lives. In August 2011 the Climb for Water Team will journey to Tanzania in eastern Africa to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. The goal is to raise the equivalent of $1 for every foot in elevation they achieve as a climbing team, 100% of the proceeds collected will benefit Water For People. That means when they reach the summit the team will have gathered close to $20,000 to support Water For People’s work througout the developing world.
