People can’t change the world, change their community, or even go to school if they spend vast amounts of time walking back and forth to distant, muddy holes carrying up to 40 pounds of water. Water For People is dedicated to helping create the water and sanitation foundations that will allow people to gain control of their lives and futures. Our goal is to maximize people’s potential to meet their development challenges through creative water and sanitation investments.  We are working to provide every family, school and clinic with access to safe water. Water For People would not be here without the commitment and dedication of our partners in the water and wastewater communities. Please join Water For People as we honor the professionals who provide extraordinary contributions to their mission.

Technical Session: Smart Charity: Partnering with North American Water Organizations to Solve the Global Water Crisis

Thursday, June 13, 2013
9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Convention Center
Moderator: Mr. Andrew Britton

Water For People and our association and corporate partners are working together to tackle the global water crisis. Water For People faces challenges to provide full coverage of sustainable water and sanitation services to all citizens in developing countries. In our efforts to address these challenges, we learn from the insight and experience of the North American water and wastewater industry, who utilize the same approach to providing water and sanitation services in North America. In our effort to find permanent solutions to these water problems, we have formed innovative partnerships in the industry that help us to develop best practices, raise awareness of the global crisis, and develop the right financial resources to leverage our funds with national and local governments, the private sector, civil society, and communities themselves, so that everyone plays a part in eradicating water poverty everywhere. Join us as we highlight the similarities between our programming model and the water and wastewater industry, and learn from other companies like yours who have creatively addressed ways to be a part of the movement to reach Everyone Forever.
