The Kenneth J. Miller Founders’ Award was established in 2001 by the Board of Directors of Water for People (WFP) to honor outstanding volunteer service to this international humanitarian effort. WFP was conceived in response to the water, sanitation and health needs of millions of families living in the developing world. The VA Section AWWA and VWEA honored Jeff Kapinos for his efforts by selecting him for this prestigious Award. Jeff’s passion and willingness to reach out to others combined with his leadership and participation on the WFP committee has resulted in several successful WFP Projects.

Jeff was chosen for this award for his dedication and leadership throughout his tenure as both Vice Chair and Chair of the WFP Committee and as well for maintaining and improving the committee’s main fundraiser (our annual Herb Evans Golf Tournaments) for over four years. In addition, Jeff developed and organized the annual 5K Fun Run/Walk at JAM. Jeff, a Virginia Tech graduate is the Utilities Team Leader with Draper Aden Associates.
