MTV Act Action Brief: Water
March 22, 2011
By MTV Act Blog
Roughly 1 billion people – or 1 in 7 people living on the planet today – don’t have access to clean drinking water. Water-related diseases are the leading cause of death globally and are responsible for 80% of sickness in the world. Lack of clean water even fuels conflicts like the genocide in Darfur. However, unlike HIV/AIDS or cancer, cost-effective and 100% effective solutions exist. Just $20 can make a huge difference in one person’s access to clean water for life.
Are you thirsty for change? Together, we can all work collectively to support creative and innovative solutions so that someday we can declare water poverty eradicated. Every action counts.
