NALCO World Water Corps Volunteers Return from Rwanda

Marcelle Ferguson, Nalco Product Manager from Adomite in Sugar Land, and Nancy Laroche, Senior Account Manager from WPS sales in Montreal, recently returned from their two-week Nalco-sponsored Water For People World Water Corps program in Rwanda. As World Water Corps volunteers, Marcelle and Nancy shared their Essential Expertise in support of the development of safe, sustainable drinking water resources in Rwanda.

“Last year, we created a new company vision to earn customers for life and enhance the lives of our employees while protecting the planet," said Mary Kay Kaufmann, Chief Marketing Officer and Water For People board member.

"This year, Nalco is putting it into action. We provided Marcelle and Nancy the opportunity to give back by donating their time and expertise to make a big difference in protecting and ensuring  the safety of drinking water for those less fortunate. Many of us take access to safe drinking water for granted.”

The goal of this project was the generation of a baseline assessment report on the water quality in the Rulindo District, located in the Northern Province of Rwanda. The data is still being processed and analyzed, but once it is complete, the findings will be shared by Water For People with the Government of Rwanda to use for planning water and sanitation projects that will enable all residents in the Rulindo District to have proper access to drinking water.
