Replication
Replicating success
Two ways to replicate—micro and macro.
VILLAGE-TO-VILLAGE IMPACT
Create total water and sanitation coverage for the people in one community, and two great things happen. One, those people get a long-lasting solution. Two, the next village over wants the same thing—success. Community leaders see the success of the “covered” village and want that for their village too: Villagers put pressure on local government, neighbors talk about what they want, private sector players are activated. From one village to another, the success at a micro level spreads out in a wave of positive demand.
MACRO-SCALE IMPACT
Now think about how one NGO can make a difference through its Growing Impact. Water For People is distinct. We are not only committed to affecting change on the ground; we’re also determined to impact the sector and other development organizations to improve and grow and help more people. Water For People can’t do it alone. The size of the crisis requires other organizations to increase scale, replicate successes, and adopt best practices. Therefore we know that we must grow our impact village to village, while growing our impact on the sector as well.
