Integrity and Accountability
Saying what we do and doing what we say
At the heart of Water For People is the mission to keep ourselves accountable to the communities where we work.
We measure our results over time so that we can prove that our solutions hold up for the people we serve. We use the long-term sustainability and effectiveness of our work as a gauge for those who donate, volunteer, and advocate on our behalf. That’s integrity.
Take a look at some of our programs that demonstrate our commitment to integrity.
The World Water Corps®, is a global volunteer network of experts. The WWC participants are matched with specific monitoring, evaluation, and assessment tasks according to their skills. They verify our work in-country, and ensure that we keep our promises—to our donors, to our beneficiaries, and to ourselves.
We have created a new goal within our 2010–2014 Strategic Plan to measure the efficacy of our results at 3, 6, and 10 years from the inception date. That way, we can be sure that our old programs are up and running, our new programs are designed to last, and our promises are kept.
We’re designing a new program that will revolutionize the monitoring and measurement of our effectiveness in the field. We’re creating a data capture, reporting, and analysis tool that reports how our work (and others’) is doing across countries and across programs. Focused on water and sanitation, the tool is central to our effort to strengthen our knowledge, transparency, and leadership in the sector.
Water For People is committed to showing how water points and sanitation solutions are operating today—and over time —to keep our work transparent and full of integrity.
