SUMMARY:100th Annual Michigan WEA Conference: Water For People Committee Activities
DESCRIPTION:Are you attending the Michigan WEA Annual Conference at the Boyne Mountain Resort from June 15-18? The MWEA Water for People Committee has planned several fundraising activities for the conference. There will be a silent auction starting Sunday and ending Tuesday. On Monday\, from 4:30 to 5:30pm\, the Committee will co-host a Beer and Wine Tasting event with the New Professionals Committee. This event will feature a variety of wines and craft beers from local wineries and breweries\, exciting prizes\, and ample opportunities to network with industry professionals. Additionally\, on Monday evening\, the Committee will sell tickets for a 50/50 raffle\, with the winner announced on Tuesday. All proceeds from these events will support Water for People’s mission of providing clean water and sanitation worldwide. Be sure to visit the Water For People table in the lobby near registration to see the auction items and place your bids.

SUMMARY:Paddle With Purpose at the Annual MWEA Conference
DESCRIPTION:The MWEA Paddle With Purpose will take place on Sunday\, June 15\, 2025\, as a part of MWEA’s 100th Annual Conference. Canoe rentals will be provided by Jordan Valley Outfitters\, located at 311 N. Lake St. (M-66)\, East Jordan. We will be paddling the Jordan River from Graves Crossing Road to Rogers Road\, a trip of about three hours. \n\nThe total cost of the trip is $95 for a team of two paddlers ($65 for transportation and canoe rental and $30 for Water For People).\nIf you prefer to rent a kayak\, the total cost for a solo is $65 and the total cost for a two-person kayak is $105.\n\nThe schedule for the Sunday event is to meet at the Boyne Mountain Grand Lodge main lobby at 11:45 AM. Bus transportation to and from the Jordan River will be provided by Jordan Valley Outfitters. Plan to return to Boyne Mountain by around 5:30 PM. \nYou are encouraged to register by May 23 if you plan to join the Paddle With Purpose event.
