Behind the Bar

The perfect cocktail starts with a luxury we all take for granted, one that we’ve been working to bring to Everyone for the past 25 years.

The perfect cocktail starts with water.

In honor of our 25th Anniversary we knew that a unique beverage program would be key. Not only is it the perfect way to showcase our partnership with Absolut Elyx, it is also a great opportunity to pay homage to our Denver roots and celebrate the city’s ever-growing commitment to handcrafted spirits and precise mixology.

To accomplish this goal we called on local beverage expert Kevin Burke to bring our vision to life. Burke has spent more than 6 years behind the bar at Colt & Gray and Ste. Ellie, building a portfolio of refined cocktails as their resident Beverage Director.

On April 7th he will be bringing the industry’s water story to life all while serving up signature Absolut Elyx cocktails.

“I’m really excited to see the guests be re-introduced to the importance of water. It’s something that we take for granted every day, especially behind the bar,” he explains. “Raising awareness and seeing it as a resource and asset will hopefully allow guests to re-think how they have a relationship with it.”

For Burke, our partnership goes beyond the craft itself and meets at the intersection of philanthropy and hospitality, something our partners at Absolut Elyx have built into their identity.

“Philanthropy is all about taking care of people and hospitality comes from the exact same space,” he explains. “We’re taking care of our guests and our clients without caring about where they’re coming from or who they are. It is all about caring for them and wanting them to have a great experience.”

We are thrilled share this unique experience with our guests and showcase an industry that is thriving here in Denver. Reserve your spot at the bar now before tickets sell out.

The last version of Internet Explorer was version 11. Now Microsoft is pushing 'Edge'. Older versions of IE aren't even supported by Microsoft anymore. This article is a bit dated, but is a quick read and helps to explain why you really should upgrade: Please Upgrade Your Browser. Essentially, dated browsers are a huge risk for the user.

Alternatively, if you don't feel like upgrading your browser, you can also use our full site on your phone.

Why Don't We Fix Our Site for X Browser?

Essentially, Water For People is a non-profit and we would rather spend money on our causes instead of the very significant amount of money that it would cost us to design and maintain a website that works for legacy, unsupported browsers.
