Access to safe drinking water reduces emigration in Guatemala

Puerto Morelos (Mexico), Nov 30 (EFE).- Access to basic services such as drinking water is important to prevent families in the "dry corridor" of Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala from migrating to other countries, said Daniel Oporto, director for Latin America at Water for People.

In addressing Sustainable Development Goal 6.2, IDB Lab – the innovation laboratory of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) – commissioned the Toilet Board Coalition and Water For People to scale sanitation businesses in Latin America and the Caribbean via the Toilet Board Coalition’s Accelerator.
