This is How You Can Help

Water For People was built by volunteers, and we still greatly value volunteer support. We are always looking for new volunteers to have a Ripple Effect and outreach in their communities by fundraising and promoting awareness of the global water crisis. As a volunteer, you'll have opportunities to learn more about our work.

The Ripple Effect Community is for people from all walks of life – any age, background, or profession – who bring their talent and passion to life for a good purpose. They have a ripple effect in their community by organizing events and fundraisers that promote awareness of the global water crisis and Water For People.

Join a Committee

Over 50 local committees across the United States and Canada support Water For People's work through community outreach, advocacy, and fundraising. Volunteering in your local committee provides a space to work alongside like-minded individuals to help end the global water crisis.

Sign up for the World Water Corps

The World Water Corps is made up of technical volunteers for Water For People. If you're a water or sanitation professional, we could use your expertise to support our teams around the world in solving technical challenges along the way to reaching Everyone Forever.

The majority of World Water Corps assignments are desk studies, no travel required.

Volunteer Recognition

The Kenneth J. Miller Founders' Award was established in 2001 by the Board of Directors of Water For People to honor outstanding volunteers for their service and leadership in the advancement of Water For People's mission. The Miller Award is presented annually to extraordinary volunteers selected by Water For People Committees and Workplace Giving partners.

The Robert W. Hite Distinguished Leadership Award is awarded to a person who has demonstrated active leadership to benefit others and is supportive of Water For People's mission – someone who inspires a shared vision, is forward-thinking, and truly envisions a world where all people have access to safe water and sanitation facilities.
